At just 18 years old, Pudi Lo has quickly carved out a space for himself in the music world with a distinct style influenced by icons like Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, and Gunna, with a nod to Young Thug too. Pudi Lo didn’t always see music as his path, despite being a natural at freestyling during his school days. It was his friend Malcolm Mercer who pushed him to take his talent to streaming platforms. “Ever since I was in school freestyling, I’ve been told to do music. Malcolm really pushed me to go for it,” Pudi Lo shares.
Pudi Lo’s music is influenced by big names like Carti, Uzi, and Gunna. He’s already released four albums. His latest, Bipolar, shows he’s getting serious about his music. “I slowed down with Bipolar, and you can really hear the difference,” he explains. His recent track, “Svj Prada,” came from a moment of clarity amidst creative struggles. “I was having writer’s block, but then ‘Svj Prada’ just hit me, and I was like, this is too hard. It really captures what I want my music to sound like,” Pudi Lo says about the song.
While he enjoys the financial side of music, Pudi Lo’s goals are deeper. “The money’s cool, but I wanna stand for something, you know? I’m not regular, and I’ve known that ever since I left the military,” he states, hinting at a deeper sense of purpose in his work. As for what’s next, Pudi Lo is eager to connect with others in the industry, especially those he looks up to. “Man, someone tell Carti to tap in with me,” he laughs, hopeful about future collaborations that could shape his career.
