BLoved is a 19 year old from Houston who now lives in Virginia’s 757 area. His new EP, “Lemon Drop”, is a personal project filled with raw emotions, real stories, and honest reflections.
After going through a rough breakup, BLoved turned to music as a way to deal with his emotions. It started as a form of therapy, helping him process his thoughts and struggles. Though his early songs were rough, they were real, and that honesty still defines his music today.
BLoved draws inspiration from a mix of artists like Marilyn Manson, Motionless in White, Coldplay, and underground names like Lil Peep, Ghostemane, Ouija Macc, and Golden BSP.
His first release, “Runnin”, was about escaping family drama and addiction. He wrote it months before he actually moved away, but the song ended up reflecting his reality.
The title “Lemon Drop” comes from his older sister’s first tattoo. When they were kids, she had him write lemon drop on a piece of paper, and it became a lasting memory. The cover art was originally a photo of the two of them as children, edited to reflect the darker themes of the EP.
Each song on the project tells a different story. Different talks about how people treated him after he got sober, School captures the chaos of his time in active addiction, and “Lemon Drop” dives into his sister’s struggles with addiction and how it affected their family.
Nothing in this EP is exaggerated. Every word comes from something BLoved has seen, thought, or experienced firsthand.
For BLoved, music isn’t just about making songs, it’s about healing. He hopes his music helps people going through tough times the same way his favorite artists helped him.
