BandoBoy Rich, a 23-year-old artist from the Turks & Caicos Islands, is making waves with his upcoming single “BAT ACTIVITY”. This track isn’t just music—it’s a reflection of a grind that started in the Winter of 2023. Long studio nights followed by intense gym sessions became his routine, creating a Batman-like mindset that carried over into Summer 2024. Between traveling back and forth from Canada to Turks & Caicos, surrounded by carnival energy and late-night flights, Rich found inspiration during a quiet moment on a plane. Pen met pad mid-flight, and before the wheels hit the runway, “BAT ACTIVITY” was written.
Music has always been a part of Rich’s life. Growing up, his father owned a well-known radio station in Providenciales, and his older brother was part of a local group that later went independent. Rich started singing in his school choir and eventually began writing hooks for his brother. It wasn’t until he moved to Salisbury, Maryland, for school that he started writing his own raps. What started as poetry soon turned into full songs over YouTube beats. Later, living in Canada with his close friend Zie, also known as Double Ss, Rich found a new rhythm. Between school, basketball practice, and late-night recording sessions in a basement studio, they were cranking out four to five tracks a night.
In 2018, Rich created a track called Peons and sent it to his friend Freddy LaFlare for feedback. Freddy didn’t just give feedback—he jumped on the track, and they dropped it together. That moment cemented Rich’s place as an artist representing Turks & Caicos, showing the world there’s more to the island than just beaches and resorts.
Rich grew up with a wide range of musical influences. His older brother introduced him to Lil Wayne, the Hot Boys, and reggae legends like Vybz Kartel and Jah Cure. With strict Haitian parents, he had to sneak music through YouTube, discovering Tupac, Biggie, and early 2000s pop hits. Moving to the US expanded his taste further, with artists like Playboi Carti, Meek Mill, Rod Wave, and Kodak Black shaping the way he tells his stories. Through his music, he paints a picture of life in Turks & Caicos beyond the postcard-perfect surface, sharing stories of struggle, hustle, and ambition.
For Rich, music isn’t just about personal success—it’s about representing where he comes from and creating opportunities for those who follow. He wants his journey to inspire kids from his island to dream bigger. With his brand STAÏNLESS WORLD, Rich is building something more than music. The brand will feature exclusive merch, pop-up events, and private experiences, aiming to create a cultural movement that extends far beyond his tracks.
His debut EP, “Traversing Alone”, is currently in the works, and “BAT ACTIVITY” is just the beginning. Rich has been stacking content, and a flood of releases is on the way. The STAÏNLESS era is here, and BandoBoy Rich is just getting started.
