ILYMAZZI is only 19 and he’s steadily making a name for himself in the underground scene with his new single “FIRST CLASS”. The promising star was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Mazzi got his start in the music industry at 14 when he began making beats on an iPhone. He made his first ever beat on a park bench on June 23rd, 2018 while on a week long trip to Japan. He stated at the time he thought it was the hardest beat of the decade but it was just his first beat and he fell in love with how fun and “easy” it was to make. After that starting point, he kept making beats and started trying to expand his music taste. In 2022 he started rapping because he wanted to finally take it to the next level. At first he was self conscious about how he sounded but once he found out about autotune and vocal presets it was smooth sailing from there. Some of Mazzi’s biggest inspirations when he started were medasin for his unique production style & sound and also lilbootycall for his raps and his relatable life story. Lately however, his inspirations have been a lot of artists from the underground PluggNb genre like Texako, Summrs, Autumn and more. When it comes to production he cites ADTurnUp and Texako as his biggest inspirations. Some of Mazzi’s notable recent releases are “sedated!” and “2am in Tokyo!”. Back to ILYMAZZI and his latest release “FIRST CLASS” which dropped on all platforms on January 25th, it’s the first song he’s made with a sampled beat. Mazzi produces all his music himself and has never found sampling easy, but this one was just perfect and he’s very proud of himself for it. His inspiration for this release was juxtaposed because he had a shoreline mafia west coast type rhythm and flow mixed with a lilbubblegum and ilyTOMMY type sampling lead. ILYMAZZI has big plans in his music career and wants to start by getting his name out there, then have more people listen and enjoy his music, play shows, travel, and be able to take care of his mother and family.
